No Favorable Conclusion - Voters Throughout the US Share Anxieties About the Shutdown

US legislators from the two factions are pointing fingers as numerous of workers face unpaid leave and the shutdown persists with no end in sight.

The Democratic Party have refused to support the GOP budget proposal unless ending healthcare subsidies that they claim many laboring parents depend on are renewed.

Republicans want Democrats to approve a temporary measure first and then they can discuss the subsidies.

Misty Dennis, Forty-Nine, GOP Supporter

This California resident is worried about the broad effect of the shutdown on ordinary Americans.

The Republicans have fifty-three votes, they require 60 to enact the bill. Is it really that hard to find common ground over seven supporters so that Americans avoid harm?

If this drags on for another week or two, the reality is US citizens are being hurt, American citizens are being impacted by this and somebody should step up to be the adult in the group.

I think sometimes politicians are so far away from ordinary citizens, the regular person going about their day, so they don't remember what the challenge is like and I think they should factor that in, particularly if it's three-quarters of a million Americans that are not getting paid.

That's a lot of citizens not getting paid, that's a large group of people failing to contribute their earnings into the market. Americans are just being harmed.

A Democratic Voter, 22, Democratic Supporter

This Maryland citizen recognises this shutdown will create hardship to many US citizens, but she believes it is a worthy political fight.

I'm anxious because there is no favorable conclusion with the federal government being closed.

I'm extremely concerned about what's going to happen to low-income families, scholars who need federal scholarships and government workers.

But this is a worthwhile battle for the Democrats to wage. Certainly employment are going to be lost, initiatives are going to lack financial support, which is so disappointing but I don't think that is responsibility that the the left would have on their hands.

I believe it's valuable to stand firm, this is delivering a strong message to their voters.

Punal Bhavsar, Mid-Thirties, Democrat

This California resident is concerned the Democrats lack a plan in their shutdown approach.

I don't know if the Senate Democratic leader has a game plan for an exit strategy to discussions or how to guide the party away from this.

I don't know if the Democratic Party have a strong enough narrative to the public on what they're pursuing.

In terms of digital outreach, the Republicans certainly have the upper hand. The communication is not resounding on what Democrats are trying to do.

I'm presently at a point where I'm fairly anxious because federal closures harm everyone.

I'm going to be unaffected, but for everyone else who depends on the public services, who plans to tour a National Park or museum, they're going to be inconvenienced, if not currently, then in the near future.

And that is unreasonable.

Jim Sullivan, Mid-Fifties, Republican

This Indiana voter claims the left are acting strategically with regular people and their income.

This is standard politics. It is a temporary funding they are trying to enact, that the Democrats don't support.

Everyone's calling it a Democratic closure, it's not on the GOP, it's due to the opposition, he's proceeding to stay prominent within his group - in the meantime, all are in the uncertainty.

I fail to observe that this is going to resolve.

The ordinary citizens are trapped between sides, and Democrats are willing to harm them. They're not doing themselves any favours when they actually delay issues like this.

A Democratic Voter, 27, Democrat

This Florida voter states the Democratic tactic is a difficult but necessary one and one that affects his relative, who has been furloughed because of the closure.

Democrats' strategy is a difficult one, but sadly it is a required one.

They have been unable to do much to slow or stop the president's agenda.

I agree with their approach, I support their rationale for proceeding.

The current president is a aggressor and if you give into a intimidator he's going to expect further compromises, that's how bullies work. So you have to resist a aggressor to make him recognise you're not going to give things up for free.

The moment when it goes too far is when the Democrats start suffering in the narrative struggle, if the perception turns to faulting the Democrats then it might be appropriate to reach a resolution.

Rom Solene, 64, GOP Supporter

This Grand Canyon State voter is unaffected by the closure so he is ok with the halt persisting, if that is what it is needed for the GOP to succeed.

I would expect after the period that the left have had, I would have assumed that they would have gone along with the continuing resolution, at least temporarily.

I am fully supportive of what the GOP are pursuing, I'm all for reducing government spending.

The Democrats have turned so antagonistic of the administration, whatever he suggests I feel they would find cause to oppose him.

I myself am unaffected by the pressure that other Americans are, this does not affect.

The limited we need from the government - what it supplies for us - the shutdown is will not affect us {whatsoever|at all|in any
